Lawrence Paul Yuxweluptun. I had the honor to interview him about his work. He uses his art to portray the discrimination and the effects from western society domination towards the First Nations. His work is a recording of his political and social views the deal with the destruction of his mother land, lead by the “white supremacist” government. He is one of my favorite artists because of the hybridization of the traditional and the Western influence in Native art combined with a political perspective.
